Location: Castlemaine Barrington is an impressive mid-Victorian residence listed on the Historic Estate Register. It was built in the 1860's when Castlemaine was a thriving gold rush town, for George Crompton Leech a local Barrister who later became a County Court Judge. He named the house after his wife Alicia Barrington. Your stay at Barrington will be in the garden cottage, nestled in a large semi-formal garden, giving you privacy, peace and quiet. The cottage has been rennovated with a focus on quality and comfort and includes a wood fire, fine linen and your own bathroom. Your fully cooked breakfast can be enjoyed in the cottage or the garden at a time that suits you. We have bicycles for you to use, bocce to play in the garden, or a picnic hamper can be arranged. Childen can be accommodated. |
